I remember that when my nephew was a baby, the doctor looked at the charts and called my brother. "I need to see you. Your son's height is in the 30% range for heights of babies his age, but his head is in the 90%!" Of course, when my brother and sister in law walked in, the doctor took one look and said, "Oh...."

People were smaller centuries ago mainly because of diet. We, however, have the tendency to look at things though contemporary eyes, hence the label of 'dwarf'.
