Tom Cruise Boots Publicist Sister, Will Remain For Holmes

Tom Cruise has axed his sister as his publicist, after a summer of negative publicity. Those of you out there with some smarts will realize that Tom Cruise going publicly loco directly coincided with the appointment of new publicist Lee Anne DeVette - Cruise's sister. But now Cruise has booted DeVette; so memorable moments like the Tom Cruise couch-jump, psychiatry-rant or even the hyperactive spazzing out will probably soon be no more.

The 'Mission Impossible' actor replaced DeVette with veteran Hollywood PR guru Paul Bloch, who's also a co-chairman for publicity firm Rogers & Cowan, according to the Daily Variety trade paper. Bloch has previously represented Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallone and Fellow Scientologist, John Travolta.

Tom said of his sister, who will now just handle his charity work: "Lee Anne has done a wonderful job."

"But she has always expressed a desire to oversee and expand the day-to-day activities of my charitable endeavors. With our current plans to increase those endeavors, and Cruise-Wagner's increased production slate of film and television projects, this seemed the appropriate time to make that segue and bring Rogers and Cowan on board to handle mine and the company's entertainment-related publicity needs."

1. Is he trying to blame his sister for being a complete asshole?

I dont' get it. Does his sister make sure that he insults everyone he meets? Does his sister make sure that he shucks for that piss-poor excuse for a religion? Does his sister make him do jumping jacks on Oprah's couch? Does his sister make sure that he calls out people suffering from Postpartum depression? I don't think so. SHe's a fall guy. He's still a slimy little turd who'll continue to make movies in which it's just the same character under different circumstances.
