How long does an operation to remove 4 wisdom teeth take? |
|
w/ general anesthesia of course. My wife is getting it done tomorrow and I am not sure if I will have time to get the kids. Thanks you progressive warriors.

5. Tell me about it!! I was 13 and they were giving me percocet.. |
|
I was floating like a turd that has too much fiber in it.
Percocet doesnt give me that effect anymore. I wonder if he gave me too much.

3. less than an hour but NO general anesthesia |
|
why would you need a general for that, it greatly increases the risk of complications
my wisdom teeth grew in at a 90 degree angle to my other teeth and had to be sectioned to be removed & all i needed was local anesthesia
i didn't even need the valium drip, which saved me some bucks, but my oral surgeon was a good hypnotist, i was completely relaxed

and she is going to look awful, so don't worry. Take her home and put her to bed. She might throw up for a while, so have some ginger ale on hand.
If she tends to get sick with, say, codeine, ask for another med to counteract nausia. I went through this myself, and then with both my kids.
She's gonna have REALLY BAD BREATH for a couple of weeks.

took a 1/2 hour and here's what scared me. Half way through the pull the Dentist looks at his assistant and asks "what do i do here" Apparently I had strong curved roots that made it difficult. "my exact instant reply to the dentist was "wha the fuh ooo you eean by wha oo I oo ere?" So many people have heard that story now. I believe he has closed his practice, not that I would ever go back again anyway.

I had it done when I was 17. But they drugged me, and the doctor told me to take it easy that night. I wanted to go to the basketball game that night, but the doctor vetoed that idea. I was fine the next day.

11. depends on if they're impacted and the condition of the teeth |
|
Anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours.. I'd go with 2 hours to give you a good cushion of time.

14. Mine took maybe a hour and very little pain afterward and no swelling. |
|
I was out of it, the only way to have wisdom teeth out.
I came home and listened to Air America, it was the first day of their broadcast.
