Homeland Security -- Question on airport security... |
|
Edited on Wed Nov-19-03 01:18 PM by E_Zapata
Hey ........
I have to get on a plane for the first time since before 2001. I have my ticket. It's a one-day roundtrip for business.
And this is my question.........have any DUers/activists had any problem getting clearance to get on a plane?
I think about the nasty-grams that I have been routinely sending to bush and evil congresscritters.......and LTEs.......and protesting and marching, and I wonder if people like me are getting signaled out as 'potential enemy combatants'.
I can't miss this flight.....and wonder if I should just drive.
I know Will Pitt seems to get onto planes......but him being a public speaker.....they wouldn't want to harass him too much (yet, that is)
So, anyone have any problems getting onto planes?

I doubt you will have a problem. My husband had some problems after 9/11. I think that was because most sane folks were not flying much and he continued to fly a lot. :eyes: I travel a fair amount and have no problem

I've been writing letters to the papers, e-mailing protests to the White House, hosting an anti-Shrub Web page, and editorializing in my own little publication for quite a while. I've flown a few times this year with no more hassle than anyone else.
That's not saying much, though, because flying has become a major pain in the butt for everyone during the past couple of years.

3. Thank you for your input....... |

Shoot.....bill, compared to you, I am like a faithful republican! lol (just kidding). good to know that even one who has an anti-shrub site can still fly without problems!!
Flying does suck these days..... such a hassle. But the choice is: driving 7 hours on thurs and coming back on Fri or spending an extra $50 for the flight (over gas and hotel bill, etc). Figure I can stand in some lines and read my Joe Conason book!!!

4. No but every airport seems to be different |
|
without naming which ones- My wife and I just took a trip to the Fla.Keys and we passed through the same airports going both ways (switching airlines at one) and we had completely different experiences each time. In one airport on the way down we had to show ID's 4 times within 50 feet at the same one on the way back we showed it once that was it.

did learn not to wear a wire bra after the lady in formt of her was groped for several minutes.
She moves alot of money around in her line of work. And they always flag her at the ticket counter.
