Goddamnit it's starting to snow here in Vancouver.....
I can see it coming down the inlet...don't get me wrong I LOOOOVVVE snow, but all the highways are already closed and I may be leaving tomorrow for an interview for a much needed new job. The job is 8 hours away and if the snow keeps up the highways will remain closed and I'm too edgy to not get this job! AAAHHH

7. Will they get the sand trucks out?
This is the worst kind of driving. The roads warm and the snow freezes and forms that layer of ice. Slippery, yuck.

8. nah....looks to be a short thing although
It's funny here...unlike the rest of Canada, we only have on eor two dumps a year if we're lucky...so the don't have to stretch the snowclearing budget or anything...so all through the snowing...trucks are out.

I was suprised in New BRunswick when they didn't clear the streets untill the snow stopped.

9. The North Shore mountains were beautiful this morning...
...all white with snow, especially since the sun is shining brightly today...

Drive safely!

-SM, whose corner of Vancouver only got rain (lots and lots and lots of rain....) last night...

11. Patience....
I have complete confidence that our regularly scheduled torrential downpours will have started up again just in time for the weekend...

12. Where are you headed for this time?
BTW, we had a few inches of snow last nite, I want to go shovel it but I can't. Nice light fluffy stuff, not that Slurpee snow you get in Van. I remember snowstorms in Victoria, and how the drivers there didn't have a clue as to how to deal with it. The sanding fleet in Vic consisted of a flat-bed truck carrying a pile of sand and a guy with a shovel.

It doesn't snow in Vancouver often...we are on the pacific weather system...also, I don't think there are tigers in Africa. :-)
