My friend wrestled Bobby Lashley for the NAIA national championship....
I knew I heard of him before! I just did some checking up, but one of my high school teammates wrestled Bobby Lashley for the 1996 NAIA collgiate national championship at 177 lbs. I had another friend of mine from Glasgow, MT, who was an All-American at that same weight class, so I'm thinking he may have wrestled Lashley too. As I recall though, my high school teammate didn't give Lashley much of a match. Lost by a few points but I think he got behind early and never caught back up. That's pretty cool though. My claim to fame is a pinned a future Canadian National team member. He may have competed in the Olympics too. However, nobody I ever wrestled could have every possibly gotten big enough to be a pro wrestler. No way. :)

1. That's cool . .
From what I've seen of Lashely so far on Smackdown I've been impressed. He has the size, he looks convincing, and damn when he clotheslined Orlando tonight it looked (at least to me) quite painful. Just wished he had a better finisher than the Dominator. It's a nice finisher but I think if they thought about it they could give him something even mouch "OUCH". :)

2. he's a monster
he throws people so far. He makes the guys he wrestles look like little kids. I like his finisher, but sometimes he doesn't hit it just right, so it don't look as cool.

3. Yes
I will say this about the WWE. . they've been putting some new people on the past few months I've enjoyed. Lashely for his just sheer size and ability . . . Kennedy for his charisma and his microphone work etc. etc.

they struck out with the junior division though. There are actual good "Mini" wrestlers out there (I couldn't give you exact names but from Japan and Mexico I've seen some good matches) . . but they've seen to go the cheap comedy route. . and it's quite . . . pathetic.

6. I agree totally
they got some good talent coming in. This mini-division is a joke though. I don't like it at all.

I go to the same college as Brock Lesnar and Shelton Benjamin did. :)

Edit: Bobby Lashley is an awesome wrestler. He would give Monty Brown of TNA fame a run for his money.

5. one of my good friends wrestled for the University of Minnesota
Brandon Eggum from Sidney, MT. We were teammates on an all-star cultural exchange to Bulgaria in '93. He was teammates with Lesnar and Benjamin too.

8. Really? I haven't talked to him in a while
I didn't know he was into pro wrestling. I'm going to have to search his number out and get ahold of him one of these days.

9. "nods" Real Pro Wrestling
is actually that... non-scripted wrestling. I forgot what channel it came on though . . I've only seen it once and didn't watch it all the way through so I can't give a fair review on it.

10. oh right, I know what you are talking about
yeah, I'm going to have to look that up. I know Brandon used to give Cael Sanderson decent matches, but nobody can touch that guy, he's just on another level. Eggum was the 2001 silver medalist in the World Championships, so he can get it done.

11. Good Ole Monty Brown . .
Okay I know I'm not a huge fan of "The Dominator" that Lashely does. . . but it's much better than the POUUUUNNNNNNNNNNEEEE . . . . Period.

Although that is fun to say :).

12. I agree.
The Pounce??? :wtf:

That's something I'd imagine...Ernest "The Cat" Miller to do or something...not a huge freakin' wrestler.

13. Nah . . . .
All Ernest "the Cat" Miller gets to do is say "I'm the Greatest" and demand that somebody call his mamma. :)

14. LOL.
I miss Ernest Miller.

He should come back and be a jobber for Brian Kendrick or Paul London. :)
