1. No, just a really sub-par industrial band....
To my knowledge no Nazi leanings. In fact they do a lot of homoerotic stuff in their live show.

I think they may employ german imagery and culture in their message like a lot of industrial bands, but no nazi connections whatsoever.

12. So, who's par?
Skinny Puppy? Front 242? Front by Front? Bauhaus?

BTW, I like both bands.

4. Anti-Nazi
They have some good stuff, but suffer greatly from having cds where it's hard to tell where one song ends and the next starts.

That being said, their cover of Depeche Mode's "Stripped" is rockin

6. Nope. They're not Nazis in one bit.
Just creepy German post-industrial rock.

I really don't care for them, but if you really like them, no reason not to keep on listenin'.

9. Here's a good lyrics/translation site

Just a forewarning, their lyrics kind of suck. Not that they're Nazi like, just kind of simplistic/pointless (imo).

But musically, they're great.

And ninja-edit:

They have english versions of several songs (Du Hast, Engels, perhaps others) but they really suck, heh.

23. I had a similar experience when I heard Opeth for the first time
their singer goes from growly to angelic, and their music does as well. Totally impossible to describe them in words, or even by hearing one song. Kind of needs to be experienced

I saw them live a while back and wasn't sure if I liked them, or if I was just so intrigued by them... grabbed one of their CD's finally over the weekend but haven't played it yet :silly:

been too busy blasting Paris' "Sonic Jihad"

8. why does everyone always assume germans are nazis? =/
But no, they aren't, and that sort of thing is completely illegal in Germany to boot.

I think they're well composed and one of the better bands out there. But their lyrics are kind of simplistic and suck.

Their name is from a tragedy that ocurred at the Ramstein (one m) Air Force Base during an airshow there.

Not a huge fan of their first album, but Mutter and Sehnsucht kick much ass. "Halleluja", "Das Model", and the Marilyn Manson remix of "Sonne" are all great too.

13. sigh
Where did this question even come from? It's angry and German so it might be nazi?

Funny, no one ever asks if American thrash metal with unintelligible lyrics is KKK. I realize I might be a tad sensitive, but there have been a few times when people asked the same thing when I had Rammstein playing in my car.

I know racial stereotyping sucks so I'm really sorry.

It's just that you know It's a hard stereotype to get rid of.

And Rammstein sounds like they want to kill me

20. Don't worry about it
It can be depressing when its brought up anytime angry and german are used together as adjectives. But its also good in a "never forget" kinda way. It's our national shame, but we also want to make sure it never happens again.

Yes, as it was mentioned earlier, anything slightly nazi-like isn't tolerated one bit. They crack down hard on that kind of stuff over there.

Ever listen to "Die Eier Von Satan" by Tool? It's an angry industrial type song that sounds completely evil/nazi like to a typical listener... but is nothing more than a recipie. The chorus, "Und Keine Eier" that a fanatic crowd cheers to is nothing more than "and no eggs."

Great song about exactly what you describe.

21. Actually, yes
I've played that song for a few headbangers I knew. They didn't believe me when I told them some of the lyrics in English. I had to show them online to get them to believe me.

I once read an Interview with the lead singer, he stated that he and all of the members of the band are Atheists.

25. no real Nazi connection
But a few things rasied eyebrows (usage of Riefenstahl pictures for their clips).

AFAIK they have no political message whatsoever- just remember that some of their lyrics are rather "strong".

If you need a translation

27. Hello from Germany...
they definitely "play" with the teutonic and barbaric traditions of Germany. Most germans might be completely shocked, when they hear them for the first time. The way they use the german language, is pretty weired. Esp. how they spell the "R". A lot of people think their music is somehow "fashist", although the musicians are not fashists. They did even record a song with the title "the heart beats left" to to their right-winger fans to piss off.
Heard them the first time in David Lynchs wonderfull film "lost highways". Lynch knows how to use music.
Greetings,
Dirk
