Poll question: Poll question: Please choose some Z names for tropical storms and hurrican
Now that global climate change is here, the world Meteorological Society finds itself running out of hurricane names and resorting to alpha, beta, gamma, and so on.

I think we at DU can help them be better prepared in future years.

We've done X, http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=105&topic_id=4179858

We've done Y:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=105&topic_id=4213481

Today we have learned that a tropical storm with the dull name "gamma" may form today off the coast of Panama. Let's all do our part to make mass destruction through global climate change more fun and personable. Vote on Z names.

20. What did they call her "for short"
Zi? Zil? Zilf?

It is better, I think, to have an interesting name than no name at all.

25. Most great-great grandmothers do that.
I did have the pleasure though, of introducing my own Grandmother (the only one of my grandparents I ever met myself) to her great-great grandchildren. The kids, then about 5 or 6 called her "little grandma," and also had grandma, and "big grandma."

Everybody called her "Frances" and no one called her "Fanny." I wish they'd called her "Zilpha" though. (The name "Hurricane Frances" I believe has been retired, and if you knew my grandmother, you would have expected it.)

I have an aunt who is in quite good health who is a great-great grandmother about 5 times over - I've lost count.

So I hope you will understand that the question is not completely absurd.

For myself - I am simply trying to make it to Grandfather one time. I'm not so sure I will.

11. If it were a Nintendo release...
it wouldn't arrive until 10 months after it was supposed to, and then it'd be vastly inferior to the rest of the market. :D
