2. Let her go... she'll eventually fall asleep.
My 2 yr old will ramble and ramble and ramble on and then she'll clonk out.

or I just wait until he's exhausted (about two hours after I am.) Sometimes I can snuggle with him for a few and that works.

Edited to repair freeperesque typos.

8. No naps
My mother didn't let my sister or I take naps as toddlers. We fell asleep somewhere between 7-8 p.m. because we were tired. My sister got kicked out of a play though because practices (and the performance) were in the evening and she got cranky when she was sleepy.

9. Sorry, my dear KitchenWitch!
You don't!

Only she can do that.....at her own sweet pace!

But you already knew that, didn't you?

At least she's happy, and not bugging you......

And that is worth something....

12. You put her in her car seat, and drive for about six blocks.
That worked with my reluctant daughter. Who is now 29. It works, although you don't have a Ford Fairmont. And don't EVER bitch about it, because it only comes around this one time with her. And it is gone fast. And Merry Christmas. You are very fortunate. Have a great one.

13. You go read her a book and sing some lovely, soft songs to
her while massaging her head, stroking her hair.

Or you let her carry on as she is doing and you stay out of the room and giggle with shear delight.

14. Try a movie maybe?
Pop something in that is slow paced and if she's actually tired give her 10-15 minutes and she'll be out cold I bet.

That's the second time in less than a week that this has happened, I'm becoming too predictable.

if (predictable == predictable) {
predictable = loadVar(predictability*2);
output predictable;
}

edit: Yes, I write movieScript for a living, geeks across the planet hate me, Slashdot has a bounty on my head

25. You can only make a four year old get ready for fun things
but anything else is a gift (if they listen). At four, the world is a song, and without responsibility, school or a job let her sing till she is ready to fall asleep.

They get to be kids once for a very short time. Let them enjoy it, every minute of it.
