Have you ever written a post and discarded it unposted? - you took a while to write it, looked it over and thought, "why bother", "fuck it", or something like that?

I do that at least once a day.

Why are some messages important and others discardable? What makes the difference?

1. Omg i do that about once every three posts. Most of the time

its worry about starting a polemic. Sometimes i feel its not quality evocative of the thoughts i was having, really depends on the mood. If its a vanity post ill go ahead and do whatever, but if its a commentary i tend to digard upwards of 50% of my posts

2. Oh, yeah, lots of times.

Usually I decide what I had to say isn't that interesting or relevant to the topic at hand. Or I think my comment might start a flame war and I never see any point in those.

3. I often do that. Sometimes just the act writing gets it out of my system

Posting seems superfluous. And why bother when people won't read it or if they do they don't understand it. Any time I do post, it's because I've written it quickly and haven't waited for that "satsified" feeling. Just like with eating.

Sometimes I think I should write a book on all the posts I don't make. Which, is really rather scary when you think about the stuff I DO post. :D
