Congratulate me! NO epilepsy, just a heart attack! |
|
I'll keep my driver's license *wipes off sweat* Frankly I don't know what difference it makes - having a heart attack while driving won't look that much different from having an epileptic fit... but I won't argue with them :)

2. *um* well, OK, Congratulations! |
|
With a seizure disorder, you could lose consciousness.......
Of course, as you know, this is a no-no while driving......
And people with epilepsy can have seizures on a regular basis.....
Whereas, heart attacks do not normally happen that often.....we hope!
Here in California, any seizure disorder causes you to lose your driver's license.....
But heart attacks don't.......
So that's the difference.

5. Thank you, everybody :) |

I'm not feeling good right now, and I'll have to change my life, and I might not get to live to a hundred years, but then I never thought I would... and since we have two horses miles and miles away (which are very important to me) and want to move even further away in February the prospect of loosing my driver's license and thereby generally my Independence really got me down. So having heart problems is bad news but still the lesser evil.

flashing and strobing lights (often used in traffic management) can trigger a seizure. Not so the heart attack.
Take care of yourself, - we'd hate to lose you.

7. The funny thing is that those damn traffic lights you speak of |
|
ARE bothering hell out of me since the attack (which happened when I played a computer game and lights started flashing). But they say it isn't epilepsy. I don't understand what's going on, but I'll drive. I won't drive on the Autobahn, though, where they have those flashing lights, and not in the dark, because I'm extremely sensitive to light now. It's all pretty strange.

13. Two words: cardiac rehab. |
|
I hope you get all the support you need -- a good cardiologist; guidance on exercise, diet, and medicine; and of course the best people in the world, cardiac nurses!
Oh, and congratulations. I like to call it being a member of the Martin Sheen Club.
