My husband and I were just verbally attacked by a Freeper
we were driving through our bank drive thru, and my Jeep has any number of anti war Bumper stickers and my lisence plate says GW LIED...I also have some lovely pictures of Bush's face with the word AWOL under it...
So this car pulls up beside us and this VERY red faced angry man yells "YOU OUGHT TO BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES...JERK!!" then proceeds thru the lane to the bank....my husband and I just started laughing, and gave him the peace sign...
so what does he do...he backs his car up AGAIN and yells 'WHY DONT YOU JUST GO TO IRAQ!!!!!"
well that was even funnier so we started laughing again and gave him the peace sign again...
They seem to be getting pretty testy these days!!

6. Yes , I agree..laughing at them takes away their power
If he would have done anything else, at any physical level, it would have been off to the Pokey with the Police..but he was just an angry lonely ugly man who obviously has NO kids dying over there, and gets his jollies off of bullying. Sad little man with a sad little life I guess.

44. Not so!
My best friend's sister got that as recently as six months ago.

...I tell this story all the time. At a "support the troops" (really a pro-war) rally, she stood on the sidewalk as they went marching by. Got told to go back to Russia (really).

Also (better still), she held a sign that said "Justice, Nonviolence, Peace" on it... a woman marching and carrying a sign that read "Nuke Sadam" (sic) yelled out "Don't you feel like an idiot holding that sign?!?"

:)

30. Shouldn't the pro-war freeper
be the one should be going to Iraq? After all if invading the Middle East is such a good idea & if he supports it shouldn't he be putting his own life on the line?

43. Maybe it's a holdover from back when there were "human shields".
Someone once told me I should go there to "protect Saddam" before the war.

It's like he couldn't think of (or no one told him) anything new to say.

Which brings us to the topic of what we should say to them. I've heard a clever one that was shouted at some genuine FReepers protesting a Hillary Clinton book signing, "WHY DON'T YOU GO FIND THE WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION!"

But the idea of shouting something nonsensical is funny to me because they might try to wrap their brains around trying to figure it out. How about "WHY DON'T YOU CUT OFF YOUR FINGER!"

8. "Go to Iraq." Hmm. Becoming a fitting, and very accurate substitute
for "Go to Hell."

What an idiot. Why does he want you to go to Iraq? You're not the one with something to prove; he is. If he loves war so much, he should pick up a rifle and join the party.

Little does the man know our stepson might be sent over there in January and I barely got my own son out of going over there. Yes, dear, he wants us to MOVE there...why? what was his reasoning ? I find it puzzling, to say the least.

20. Maybe he knows that Iraq has become a Living Hell
since Saddam and the Bushes have had their way with it.

Thus, by raising the rhetorical question, "Why don't you just go to Iraq?" he was actually implying "Why don't you just to to the Living Hell that BushCo. is aggravating right now into a Colossal Crusade/Jihad, so Jebus can rEtuRn and save the suckass souls of all the sorry slobs that mAkE mY liFe rOtTeN !"

18. There are people like that where I work too.
When I say where are the WMD they say he hid them. When I say he lied about buying uranium they say it was based on intelligence. When I say the terrorists are in the White House because your 401k has been terrorized to a 201k they say the economy goes in cycles. When I say yes I know, when the repukes are in it is in a down cycle they say Clinton let all that crooked stuff go on. I say Well at least you could get a job. It is beyond their way of thinking. They actually cannot understand normal thinking. They can't. Bush could have the economy so bad they lose their job, house, savings, retirement nest egg, civil rights, Constitutional rights, and everything else and these dumb asses would still vote for him. But it is fun to give them shit. Really fun if they are the mouthy ones.

36. they hate dissent
I was in a bring our troops home/peace rally a few weeks ago, and the good reactions outweighed the bad, but 99% of the bad ones (all passing motorists) were expressed with rage and ignorance. (My favorite was some young nazi screaming "I hate peace!! I hate peace!"). All we could do was laugh in the face of such impotence.

You did good!

They must be really pissed because they finally realise they're wrong.

See, this is the thing: Imagine you're sticking to a story or platform after many years, even though it's clear that it's fabricated and wrong from the beginning (you take the postition initially because you think it coincides with your partisan platform), with lots more new evidence contradicting that platform or belief or story as time goes by, and STILL sticking with it. Then over time, suddenly the platform, story or belief is just ground into dust, and simply loses all its credibility. Then you realise that you spent all those years believing in a lie, an convincing yourself to believe in that lie. I think that would make you not only angry at yourself, but it would also make you feel like a damn fool.

That's how they feel. They're beginning to accept that they're wrong. Some people take it in stride, and just accept it, and say "OK, I was wrong. I've realised that we need to get these people out of office." But some others still are refusing to accept it. They're caught in the middle of moral limbo.
