DWR: Driving While Reading |
|
Do you often see people driving while reading? It drives me crazy... I can't fathom what makes them think this is a good idea.
I sure as shit don't want to be behind or in front of such a distracted driver.
Yesterday, there was such a driver in front of me in heavy traffic. Every time the light turned green, and cars started to advance, the driver would allow 6-7 car lengths in front before going, often letting several cars in before moving. I couldn't figure out why this driver was being such an ass.
Finally, I managed to pass, and I discovered the reason: She was reading a magazine! She had it pressed to the steering wheel, so it looked like her eyes were on the road. We were stopped at a traffic light, side by side. I honked my horn to get her attention. She looked over at me.
I pointed my fingers at my eyes, and then pointed at the road ahead.
She got the meaning, and flipped me off, and started yelling. I could see spit spraying her window.
I hope the accident she is bound to have kills only her.

shaving (or doing the hair) and driving, all at the same time.
We Philadelphians are multi-capable!

on a cellphone that's the problem, it's dialing the damn number. Or course, there are lots of bad drivers out there, with or without cellphones.
Personally, I can drive better one handed, talking on a cellphone while getting my johnson shined than about 90% of the other folks out there :D

My old friend Shelley once pulled up to a person who was riding the center line at 25 mph in a 40 zone at a stop sign.
We get up to a stop sign, Shelley pulls her car up next to the other, motions the "roll-down-your-window" sign, the lady rolls her window down, Shelley points her finger almost in the woman's car and yells:" YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE A LICENSE!!!!".
The other driver's jaw dropped and we roared off after that.

have gotten in front of her, then stopped short at a light, so she rear ended me. Then I'd roll out of the car onto the pavement, screaming and holding my neck. Then I'd sue lol.
It never ceases to amaze me how people who do really stupid sh** get mad at YOU when you point it out to them.

8. I used to have a supervisor - |
|
a copy editor - who would drive on the freeway whilst reading and red-lining copy.
Yikes. What a loon. What an accident waiting to happen.
