But, especially good at soccer. Then his bones started growing too fast and suddenly, the doc ordered NO SPORTS for about a year. Geno was demolished.
Mom, in desperation, took him to a music store and rented him a sax. Geno picked it up, and we all thought, cool! Problem solved.
Mom and I went outside to pull weeds.
Then we heard it. We heard an elephant giving birth inside the house! It was horrible!

...as long as it sounds like this. I am not familiar enough with the genre to name an artist anyway...but I like this just fine. Thank you very much. Living in the future means that I have discovered a new technology which I was heretofore unaware of. Being able to listen to your show while posting in the big DU is very cool. Up until just now I have only been able to listen to www.giantradio.com while doing this. I also tried this with Mr.Scorpio's show but it did not work. You have a warm radio voice too. I hope you voted in the DU lounge Photography Polls...there are some great photos posted there by our fellow DUers. (I know: shameless plug!) Thank you again for the show...you have a new fan in Washington State.

12. Jazz Crusaders! Yeah, Jazz Crusaders! |
|
One of the classics -- Young Rabbits, Congolese Sermon, or most appropriately FREEDOM SOUND.
(You can skip their later stuff when they became the (just) Crusaders.)
BTW, I got the Monk/Coltrane lost album. And it is one of the most fantastic things ever recorded. Except that it gives the feeling of being abbreviated. Wish I had some recordings of what they were doing at the Five Spot then.
Nice to be back m'love after a few weeks of no cable because of Hurricane Wilma.

No power, or phone for two weeks, and like I said, the cable just came back on Friday. It was intermittent for a week, which drove me nuts. So it was like sensory deprivation.
Good to be back with you.:loveya:

30. You likely do not have access to this but: |
|
...Paul Anastasio was considered one of the better fiddle players in the world. Last time I talked with his parents,( 2 decades ago), he was ranked #3 in the world by his peers. If you manage to find any of his work it is worth a listen, he does a lot of "swing" style music. He was also at one time with: Asleep At The Wheel, New Deal Rhythm Band and The Gatlin Brothers. BTW I have enjoyed each and every tune.

I knew his parents very well years ago. Angelo Anastasio was then Chairman Anthropology Department Western Washington University, his wife, Sue Anastasio, was Chairman of the Music Department at one point. The whole family is VERY music oriented. I guarantee you that if they knew about your show they would be listening with approval. Paul had a CD out, I used to have it but fear it is now lost to time.
