Bubble Gum tunes and sugary songs
Edited on Sun Nov-20-05 01:06 AM by Neil Lisst
You love 'em, you hate, you sing 'em in spite of yourself.

You know what they are.

Let's hear which song gets you singing like a drunk girl from Winnipeg.

Is it ABBA's DANCING QUEEN?!

or maybe ...

YOUUUUUUU LIGHT UP MY LIFEEEEE!

Fess up. Which ones get you going?

6. The former group from Toronto, Kids in the Hall, had a ...
... they had a segment once called DRUNK GIRL FROM WINNIPEG.

She stood on the dance floor by the speakers and danced by herself into the speakers when songs came on.

I used it because my cartoonist partner lives in Winnipeg, so I like to drop Winnipeg into conversations whenever I can.

16. I'm terribly sorry.
There apparently has been a horribly embarrassing communication breakdown here.

I sincerely apologize from the bottom of my heart and promise never to broach the subject again. I feel so ashamed.

Please forgive me.

The Archies, and their hit, "Sugar, sugar." Not even a real group.

11. true. he was one guy, a studio musician.
oh sugar, oh honey, honey

First time I ever heard that song was in an NCO club in Taipei when a Filipino cover band played it badly.

You should have heard them sing "I'm your Venus, I'm your fire, George desire." (it's 'at your desire.')

"Close to You" (The Carpenters) to him while I rocked him to sleep! It still puts a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye.
