The movie "Black Hawk Down"

Is a really disturbing movie. especially the scene where Ron Eldard's character knows they're coming for him and he's just sitting there looking at a picture of his family.

ON EDIT: Allow me to clarify, I don't necessarily think BHD should be taken as a history lesson or anything. I didn't think the movie sucked though. I thought it was pretty decent if you're into that kind of thing. Sure there were some inaccuracies, but they didn't completely slaughter the story.

LET ME ADD THIS - I, unlike the freepers, can take a movie at face value. I know that every word spoken in BHD is not accurate, but it's a movie. Of course I'm referring to the rabid attack on the Reagan movie. It's just a god damned movie!

1. I thought that movie sucked

although it may have something to do with the fact that I saw it on a 12+ hour flight from Seattle to Amsterdam, and it was one of the four movies I was allowed to choose to watch on the flight:

Black Hawk Down
Mothman Prophesies
Lord of the Rings
A Beautiful Mind.

I watched A Beautiful Mind 2x's, and LOTR 1/2 of a time. then the LOTR movie channel went blank, and I was forced to watch BHD about 8x's.

So I think I'm a bit skewed.

Although even when I watched the movie the first time I thought it blew.

2. its a propaganda piece mostly

the end, where the young Ranger and the middle-age Delta Force guy are talking in the mess-hall. The Delta Force guy says "That's what nobody understands. That its about the guy next to you." He says this while eating mashed potatos or something.

No, actually, it was about getting food to Somalis, but you wouldnt know that because youre an idiot whose stuffing his face.

7. I liked the movie

It had good action scenes. The book was far more true to reality though. The book is a must read.

8. The book was very good

From what I have read, the Book BHD by Mark Bowden was pretty accurate and stayed truthful.
The book is always better than the movie though.
