5. This is the one we had when I was little
Or a lot like it, anyway. I know it was a Zenith, and it had a dark-brown rectangular cloth speaker grille on the bottom, with a little door between the off-on-volume knob and channel selector (2-13, of course) that folded down to get to the horizontal hold, vertical hold, brightness and contrast controls. I don't remember those buttons above the screen, though.

6. We didn't even HAVE tv until 1962
Panamanian channels were not that appealing (did they even HAVE TV then:shrug:..)

We had armed forces radio and that was it..

7. I think we got about four channels
Maybe.

I know we got KSBW because it was in town; it was NBC and CBS. And KNTV in San Jose (ABC), and maybe a couple of San Francisco stations.

When cable came along — must've been about 1964 or '65 — oh, man, that was amazing. We got like 15 channels!

4. Wow
A screen half the size of a business card? That must have made for difficult viewing. Of course now people are doing that again with cell phones that receive tv broadcasts (not that I could be bothered with viewing on something that tiny).

Thanks for the link, it was fun to check out!
