I jumped over my own shadow yesterday |
|
yesterday we had a workshop with the whole company (about 40 people) about the working climate and the somewhat chaotic situation at work. There were two moderators from the union. At the beginning each department had to introduce each other to all. Our department decided that a co-worker and I had to do the introduction. In the afternoon we had small working groups, and within our group it was decided that another guy and I had to tell our outcomes to the whole company. Great. I hated talking in front of classes while in school and studying. I am a fast talker, so I am always scared that the people don't understand me when I am talking (if they don't know me and talk with me daily). So I was somewhat proud of me yesterday and I got feedback from different people that it was good what I said. Phew *wiping sweat off forehead*

:applause: Public speaking, even with people we know, is one of the most common phobias. But once you've done it, it becomes a lot easier.
But what is this "union" you speak of?
Oh... I forgot. You live in a civilized country.

3. Don't worry about nervousness; it's natural |
|
Even people who speak in public all the time get some butterflies. I learned to look at it more as being excited because it's gonna be fun.
Also, you want to do well, so there's some anxiety about that — just like you have anxiety before a test or something. But if you know what you're talking about, you will do well, and people will enjoy it. They'll admire you, too. :7
Thanks for the link. Kinda gives me hope that the working class isn't doomed.

The only realities we should acknowledge are baseball, hot cars, good food and great sex. :bounce:

15. That's part of baseball |

Half the books I own are baseball-related — mostly history, biographies and anthologies.

(hey, I just posted it in LBN :D - another shadow I jumped over)
my weekend wasn't as expected. The guy had to work. He maybe comes over Thursday (I would take the day off) or we try it again next weekend. It will work out someday, I am sure.

12. It seems so long since the election. |
|
Over here, if we're going to get a new P.M. he's meeting with the Queen at about midday the day after the election.
Do you think that the S.P.D. coalition will reign things in very much?
