GOODBYE DU!
I'm in a really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, grumpy, irritable, angry, frustrated, bitter mood, that I don't think anyone wants to deal with, so I'm gonna sign off for several hours and go soak my head in a HUGE glass of white zinfandel once I finally manage to be free of the salt mine, aka the place where I work my ass off for peanut pay and no recognition, then I'm gonna lock the kid in his room for the evening (he's been horrible at home and at school this week, his Asperger's is really kicking up and I'm at my wit's end because I don't have the money to send him to the occupational therapists he needs and that he used to go to several years ago, and I still owe them thousands of dollars that insurance wouldn't pay because it wasn't "necessary") and go soak in a hot bath for about twelve hours. Hopefully, I won't accidentally drag the hair dryer into the bathtub with me!

Ha, and you thought you'd gotten rid of me for good, now, didn't you? Sorry, people, you're still stuck with me whether you want to be or not, BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

1. If you have the money
spring for a massage sometime. It might help.

4. Enjoy your wine and your soak!
Sorry to hear about the misery of the week. Can't imagine the stress of having a child with Asperger's, plus a place where you work your ass for peanut pay and no recognition.

You've earned a wine and a soak! Don't forget the mood music, and don't forget to put your twoel in the dryer before you use it, so it's toasty warm. I'd put your bathrobe in the dryer, too, so that's toasty warm when you come out of the tub.

And take either a good book, or turn the lights down.

5. A kid with Asperger's can be a huge trial
as I know all too well.

I'm so discouraged by the fact that my son (age 20) seems never to make any progress in learning to function autonomously.

Have the soak, the glass of wine, and see you back here later.

16. Asperger's people will focus very hard and intensely on whatever
it is they're truly interested in, so your son should try to discover that and that just might be the motivating factor for him.

6. Okay here's a REAL nonsequitur -
Are you the stalwart soul who was going to speak in her class about why she was a Democrat and not a rethug? There were LOTS of great responses, and I sent one in, too. If so, wondering how that turned out - and whether there were any converts to the good cause, if you were that person.

Also, TERRIBLY glad you're not really saying "GOODBYE DU!" Sounds like you had a really crappy day!!! My condolences. I was just watching the Michael Jackson worm turning and thinking to myself - "well, okay, maybe things aren't great today, but at least I don't have do face THAT!" 'Course, I look at pictures of laura bush and wonder how SHE faces THAT every morning. Probably with medication.

10. Actually, no I'm not,
but whoever she was I hope it turned out well because that takes a helluva lot of guts to do nowadays, wingnut propaganda about the so-called "left-wing" infestation of universities notwithstanding.

14. Okay, I won't,
but I do have to lock up my workplace and I do like to keep the bathroom door shut when I'm taking a bath so it becomes like a sauna, so whichever door you're referring to, I'll definitely be careful!

Have one for me too. :toast:

Too bad we don't have enlightened social programs and universal health care like other modern nations in the world. Let's hope things change in time for people like you to get the help you need. Peace.
