Obnoxious maybe, but whoever set that up did a great job.

3. I wonder if its real.
Don't forget that last year there was a big hype about the guy who came up with the "ingenious" idea of letting people control his Christmas lights over the Internet. Turned out that it was all fake...users were actually clicking buttons that did nothing...he'd just randomly flipped the lights on his house for an hour and a half, and then posted the looping video on his website.

This wouldn't be too hard for a person to fake if they had a little time.

4. ROFL
 I actually enjoyed that. I am sure this guy's neighbors doesn't appreciate it and believes it is obnoxious. I love how the little trees seem to dance.

I wonder if I can do this to my FEMAnsion?

thanks for the link

If this is a real display it could not be on all the time during the holiday season because their neighbors would seek revenge.

7. Maybe they live on acreage...I live near Grosse Pointe (s) and you
should see some of the displays. They light up the night...the neighbor's yard...It's crazy. One has a larger than life nativity with trumpeting on their roof...I kid you not. :hi:

8. Sounds like my neighborhood except for the acreage.
The houses are very close and you get to deal with lights from a few places flashing in your window when you're trying to sleep. When my neighbors start putting up there decorations I should take pictures and post them on DU. There's one house I pass on my way to work that every year squeezes a nativity scene that's almost two stories tall in their front yard. It's made of plastic and there are lights in all the people and animals but they are not well lit so it looks like their feet and baby Jesus's back are glowing.

Then there was the house last year just one street away from me where the decorations on the roof deflated early so for months it looked like Rudolph was, to put it delicately, pleasuring Santa.

9. Hahahahaha....that's funny.

These people pay "decorating" companies thousands of dollars to "decorate" their Mansions....and it still ends up looking tacky as Hell. :hi:

10. That's okay. If I were his neighbor I'd beat him next year, when moments
after he came up with Round 2, my house sprouted its secret 300 foot tall tentacle legs that I'd spent all year building, walked over, and smashed his house into a hole in the ground before settling back into my yard.

"Wizards in Winter" by the Trans Siberian Orchestra. http://www.trans-siberian.com/intro.html

Wow, and I thought I had a problem because my &^%#*!$#@ new neighbors keep their 2,000 watt porch light on all night, shining into my living room and into my bedroom. I love natural darkness and I've been robbed of that pleasure!! I had to buy new shades for all my windows. Grrrrr.

Okay, I exaggerate a bit about 2,000 watts. But that's what it feels like.
