Has anyone ever had a voluntary "body scan"?
I hear it advertised on the radio in NYC and was wondering who does it. I guess it would be a good way to catch things early.

1. I've had recommendations against
Apparently it gives way too many false positives...leading to alot of unecessary treatment.

3. I've had a bone scan
where you drink some radioactive liquid, wait around for 1/2 hour and then take a nap on this machine for a while. The liquid tends to concentrate in your bones in areas of high blood activity, like tumors, which is what I had. (benign)

On WFLA in Tampa Tedd Webb was scanned then did spots for scan clinic saying how scans detect problems early. He later had a heart attack and emergency bypass surgery. The spots were never played again and now they are doing ads for Johnny Walker Red during afternoon.I had a scan back when it was called Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR).If you want some bang for your buck get a hepatitis A/B vaccination,I paid $50 apiece for 3 TwinRix shots so now I am ready for ChiChi's.
