... the connection to the Bible is not.

The flood that was written about in the Bible may be a legend from the melting of the Central Asian ice sheet after the last big ice age ended. There is ample evidence for enormous flooding by glacial lakes breaking through melting ice.

It's when they torture the data to fit Genesis that they go wrong.
