Can you curl your tongue? |
|
You know, like in the shape of a "U?"
They say it is genetic.
I can.

Actually, I think being able to turn it in both directions is pretty odd. Only know one other person who can do it. We both have a screw loose, but the kissing is good ;)

Long story short:
-Parents name their second child Ryan. -At the age of four Ryan(me) has a tumor removed from his larynx. -A few weeks later I start speaking. -I was unable to pronounce the "r" sound properly. -Parents regret naming me Ryan. -After a few years of speech therapy I could properly pronounce my name.
One of the exercises I had to do was practice making a bowl shape with my tongue. It was a real pain in the ass to learn how to do.

I lost about a third of my tongue and there's too much scar tissue to curl it effectively. I used to be able to do it, though.
