2. I sense an endless media storm brewing
There was an interesting meta-report on Entertainment Tonight about all the media people who have swarmed into Santa Barbara, the courthouse to be specific.

UK, Japan, Germany, they're all there waiting for the juiciest stuff.

Sickening, really when we have a war to be focusing on.

Edited on Thu Nov-20-03 11:43 PM by nothingshocksmeanymo
DO we challenge the "whiteness" of people with tans?

Last point...whether he has vitiligo or bleaches his skin...who the fuck cares? It's HIS FUCKING SKIN!

7. that's funny,
That's what we heard from my sister's foreign exchange student from Japan. She and her friends ADORED M.J., but she was absolutely shocked to find out that he was (yes, I mean WAS) black. I finally bought her a M.J. commemorative book, with plenty of 'growing up' pictures in it. She was so excited to take it back to Japan to show her friends what he looked like when he was a cute little black kid with lots of talent.

15. Oh, my god, that makes me feel old!
Michael Jackson is the same age I am. I had "Tiger Beat" magazines with his pictures in them.:)

You mean there are actually people alive who can't remember when Michael Jackson was black? That's mind-boggling!

It's really sad. He was a talented kid. I still love "I'll Be There".

8. No. He was the child member of the Jackson 5.
He has a rare skin disorder that causes loss of skin pigment, and lots of cosmetic surgery.

11. What happened?
Edited on Thu Nov-20-03 11:33 PM by FDRrocks
I heard he had bleached his skin (I dunno where the hell that is from)... and more substantially that he had a disease that caused his skin to whiten like so.

I also heard... and I think this is true... that the first time he got a nose job was after he fell on stage and busted his nose... apparently he liked the way it looked and wanted to keep it. That would explain how it kinda points up.

What kind of disease gives you that much destruction on your skin without killing you.

13. I won't defend the nose jobs but I have to believe he has
that disease that's called vitiligo or something like that. That is a horrible skin pigmentation loss. Every now and then I will see a black person with this as it progresses. You almost hate to look at them. It really looks bad. MJ using the makeup to blend it in was his only course. Of course he looks like an albino now.

Edited on Thu Nov-20-03 11:41 PM by corarose
If you are born with Vitiligo you usually start to show symptoms of it when you are a kid not an adult. Michael was normal until he got older.

Albinos are born Albinos and I have seen at least 5 or 7 African American Albinos in the past year and one was a little boy.

I feel sorry for him he looks like something out of a horror comic book.

21. Vitiligo
is an auto-immune disorder and causes loss of skin pigmentation. Usually it shows up in a patchy form, although in extreme cases can cover the entire body. I've also observed a diffuse form, in which skin pigmentation just fades away, which may possibly be what happened to MJ, although in photos his face looks more as if it has some weird pale makeup on.

Vitiligo is sometimes associated with other auto-immune disorders, such as alopecia areata, which causes hair loss.

Albinism is a genetic condition, in which people are born without any skin pigmentation whatsoever.

25. I studied skin conditions in Cosmetology College (Puppet Master)
You don't start showing signs when you are in your 20's and if on a rare occasion that you do it's patchy not the same color all over.

Do you remember the movie Coming To America with Eddie Murphy? He played an old Jewish Guy and he has makeup all over his skin and he looked white. I bet Micheal has that makeup or it's bleach.

He has messed himself up with all of the surgeries and he should have sued the plastic surgeon that messed him up.

He was a cute guy when he was younger and he looked normal. Why he would want to look like a character from the Puppet Master it beats me.

28. I read somewhere it was a drug
Evidentially, there's a drug (illegal in this country) that destroys the pigment in your skin and he shows every sign of having taken it. I wish I could remember where I read this.

Meanwhile, here's the history of his face:
