Me and a friend one night were talkin it up, and got bored you know so we decided to make fake names up for ourselves, now shes Serbian to the max, and me I am a mutt practically, so she made me honorably Serbian and I made her honorably Irish, I became Dragoljub Djordjevic and shes simply Lass O'Reilly. lol the things you do when youre bored but hey if people see this, they will call me Dragoljub and I may like that lol, some people here have a good memory for things.

Well, you already know about this, Stephie, and who I am talking about, but this will give some people something to think about.

Someone sat for weeks on DU, (and probably still does) for hours upon hours each day, searching the archives for posts, taking bits and pieces of what we say and collaborated quite a dossier on many of us. This person had quite a profile on some of us. This person was even able to figure out where someone lived even though that person NEVER said where they lived. If I remember correctly, this person pinpointed it by posts about the weather and a restaurant they ate at.

Another thing, words we say in private messages are repeated to others we wouldn't want repeated to anyone else. If you sleep around, don't tell, because chances are that info is being passed around. I don't betray, so what I hear is not repeated, but there are lots of people who gain joy by spreading gossip.

Think about it. This one reason I seldom (I do sometimes) post anything descriptive; it's just not worth the risk considering the political climate we live in. If this one person can and did do this, I can only imagine --- well, I don't want to imagine. When DU first opened we had a very valued DU'er (oh, how I miss her) who was ex-NSA and she was adamant about not giving out any personal information, because she feared the site was being monitored. I heeded her advice.
