Anyone else watch too much Thanksgiving Bond-a-thon? |
|
And if so, did you reach any earth-shaking conclusions?
I got a kick out of "The Living Daylights," when Bond goes to Afghanistan to encounter the mujahadeen, and befriends a rebel leader educated at Oxford. I kept thinking he was modeled on Bin Laden.

1. Heh...I thought the same thing. |

I did watch a lot of that, especially on Sunday. As really corny as those Bond movies can be, I really do enjoy them.

They are the most primeval expression of fantasy. Sex without consequences, battles of life and death where you always win, cool toys, fast cars, and all the eye candy you can absorb. The best movie franchise in history.
I did decide I liked Brosnan best, and that Dalton was better than I remembered him. So was Connery. Moore, who I always thought of as my favorite, didn't look as good.
And Sean Bean was the best villain ever. In fact, I now believe Goldeneye was the best Bond film ever.

My husband subjects me to that every year. I think I'll make him take me to see Rent this weekend for revenge.
