And they have no cable and I can't watch any show I like because they aren't "appropriate" for 2 and 4 year old kids.

Life sucks.

By the way is Linn County red or blue? That's where I'm living now.

4. Carlos, you need a lesson on what "sucks"
Not having cable does not "suck."

Since you now have so much free time due to not having access to "As the World Revolves around Carlos," why don't you trot yourself over to the local food bank or homeless shelter and make yourself useful.

If you pay close attention at either one of those places, you might just get a clue on the definition of "sucks."

Good luck with that.

Stephanie

5. Carlos...sometimes things deteriorate to the point where you have to laugh
Things have definitely gotten to the absurd in your life. Now that you are at your destination, it's time to start taking action to reclaim your life!

8. This may be a blessing in disguise, Carlos.
You need to detach a bit and figure out what to do next. You're safe now, and that's your biggest need at the moment.

I know you realize all this.

10. Good for you Carlos, you are safe and sound.
We can all breathe a sigh of relief. No cable means you get to go outdoors and enjoy your planet as the goddess intended you to. If you are still wired to the internet it's all you need to stay current.

Enjoy the vacation from the media blitz. If you have some dirt around and permission to do so. Grow a small garden in the spring. I find gardening very therapeutic.

11. Good Lord Carlos....
you get mugged...have your life stolen away from you...and all you can find to whine about now is not having cable. Dude you have a serious disconnect with reality. Might I suggest a therapist or a week in a homeless shelter?

14. If shows aren't appropriate for 2 and 4 year olds...
I don't watch them anyways. I stopped doing that years ago when my kids were 2 and 4 years old.

Looking back, I'm sorta glad they broke me of the television habit. I have never seen "Friends."

Not that I think television is evil or anything; after all there is a television attached to my $49 dvd player.

Yum, old movies, no commercials. And no "breaking" news about Michael Jackson.

I hope you're being sarcastic about missing cable.

As for the 2 and 4 yos, I assume you are talking about nieces and nephews. You could spend some of this time getting to know them. They could teach you much.

18. You need to regain momentum.....
When I get "stuck" I start taking some risks, doing the unusual. Apply for some jobs that you've never considered before. Put yourself "out there" in a way that you haven't. You'll be amazed at what throwing yourself a few curves can generate. I promise you........it will be worth it.

Good luck!
