1. 1951 was a monster year for that guy!!!
Edited on Wed Nov-30-05 05:30 PM by WeRQ4U
28 Wins, 258 Innings Pitched, 148 Strike Outs and a sub-3 ERA. He was a stud.

This was probably the year he did a lot of his child fathering.

2. Notice his K/BB ratio
Must have been the luckiest guy alive. This has to be a joke. If not, it must be worth a fortune. I have a bunch of old 50s cards, I'll see if I have that one.

Either his team hit for about 10 plus runs per game, or his defense turned 6 double plays a game.

4. Or he didn't give up many hits
or scattered them and the walks.

Somewhere along the line he learned control, because in '62 and '63 he was among the AL leaders in fewest walks per nine innings.

Here's his MLB stats: http://www.baseball-reference.com/r/rudoldo01.shtml

I'd bet someone at Topps was screwing around (note the misspelling of "prove") and there weren't many of this card issued. But, who knows?

6. That's funny, although it should have read...
In addition to using a teammates hat as a toilet, Dave was released because he was a really shitty pitcher.

9. Such a bummer for a baseball card.
Eat your bubble gum and read about how someone offed themselves? That sucks.

8. I saw him pitch in the 60's
For the Washington Senators--he was known as the fastest worker in baseball, took just a few seconds between pitches. That card has got to be a fake, although the bio is priceless.
