Poll question: What do you spike your eggnog with?
Brandy or Rum?

Personally I prefer dark rum...much more flavorful....

Angel and I use Erk and Jerk (E&J) Brandy...he got me into brandy big time. Xmas of 97 we made quite a few drinks, and talked about what life had in store for us....good memories...:)

9. That's spiced rum.
And i prefer it's generic cousin "Admiral Nelson". I always thought that was such a funny ripped-off name.

Why not "Gunner's Mate, First Class Phillip Nelson"?

3. Rum and eggnog
are lifelong friends....

Brandy and eggnog used to be really tight, but eggnog's wife got jealous and then brandy started seeing that guy, and they sort of drifted apart.

Yum. We loved to put a match in the empty bottle and watch the flame go WHOOOOOMP and shoot skyward. Gotta love a liquor with warning labels saying may cause blindness, flammable, etc.

How the HELL did I live through college???

Oh! I hate eggnog, btw...

12. If I'm spiking it, it's rum.
Or I buy the premixed boozy nog - that's got brandy in it.

14. Here's my recipe
separate 12 eggs

to the yolks, add one quart of cream, one box of conf. sugar
POUR IN ONE FIFTH WILD TURKEY

beat the egg white until peaks form

fold into egg yolk mixture

top with freshly ground nutmeg

and don't let your dachshunds get on the table and lick out the bowl or you will be up all night with them

15. Raw eggs?
I've heard you run a danger of getting salmonella poisoning if you use raw eggs. What do you think?

16. See, that's why you use and entire fifth of the Wild Turkey
NOTHING lives through that.

18. grow yer own
there is a risk. There is a risk in everything you do. That's a lot of alcohol, should kill most organisms - probably damage your liver more than a touch of diarrhea would hurt you. Unless you are already immune compromised.
