Poll question: HiRise Dwellers & Workers - does your building have a 13th floor?
Neither of our buildings have a 13th floor. I can't imagine buildings being that superstitious!!!

1. I've worked in two buildings that had a 13th floor
(one of them a hospital!) But also worked in some that didn't, and been in MANY that don't have a 13th floor.

The first building I worked in with a 13th floor was brand new at the end of 2001, so ifigured amybe the labeling of the 13th floor was a new thing.

But then I worked in the hospital this past fall, and that was built in the 1960s, and has a 13th floor.

I don't know why.

2. 13th streets are also rare
A lot of times I have noticed between 12th and 14th streets in towns, there will be a street with a name instead of a number.

3. 13th Avenue South is the busiest commercial strip in the city I'm in.
It's actually the busiest commercial strip in the Dakotas, in terms of car volume. But then again, Fargo has grown so rapidly that 13th Avenue South didn't exist in the early 70's. There were no buildings built alongside it until the late 70's. Now the whole deal stretches out with sprawl for at least 7 or 8 miles.

5. We have a 13'th floor
I don't know If I would want to live on it but it could have the opposite effect and bring someone good luck instead of bad luck.
