Minnie is at this very moment drinking water!!!!
First time in weeks.

Minnie is my ten year old cat. Because of a series of problems she stopped eating, and developed Fatty Liver Syndrome about three weeks ago. It has cost me around $2000 dollars (none of you are getting Holiday Presents this year, or next!) to try to save her. I've had to force liquid food down her throat with a syringe to get her to eat, and I've been doing this for two weeks. Half the time she vomits the food back up onto my carpet and I have to do it again. I even had to take her on a long trip because I had to feed her at least every eight hours.

I'm still not sure she will make it, but it's a good sign.

This is her in a healthy mood.

6. Less beautiful at the moment
She's four pounds thinnner and her hair is ragged from food slurry being splattered all over her. I haven't wanted to traumatize her with a bath yet. She smells a little sour.

Plus, she has a couple of shaved patched here and there for various tubes and stuff that were inserted or applied.

But she's purring. :-)

7. purring is good
don't bathe her right now ...

if she will tolerate it, try a warm slightly damp washcloth ...

AND She Is Still Beautiful In Your Eyes! Good luck, jobycom.

8. Right now, not in my eyes!
Right now in my eyes she's an ornery, ungrateful, meanspirited prima donna who starved herself almost to death and who does not appreciate the work I've put into keeping her alive. Yesterday the towel I use to hold her still while I feed her slipped, and she snagged my finger with a claw so bad that it took her several tries to yank it out. She seemed unmoved by my screaming, or by the blood bubbling out of the hole she created.

But I keep doing it, so there must be a reason, eh? I coulda had a big screen TV, or a car under 23 years old, or a trip to DisneyWorld. Sigh. Oh well. There's nothing good on TV these days anyway.

When you're not tormenting her by trying to keep her alive ...

just let her purrs into your heart ...

love is worth all the sacrifice ...

Sweet Dreams to you and Minnie.

5. I hope she's feeling better
Whenever Minnie is mood I have a cat  for her. (That's probably just holding my calf still so she can rub against it--but when she needs it, it's right here in the lounge.
