Join Classmates Guys
I have been out of High School for over 20 years and I got an email one day from Classmates out of the blue.

I clicked on it out of curiosity and It told me that I could have a trial membership and I joined.

When I plugged my name in I immediately got back messages that some of my old friends from High School were tying to get a hold of me.

One of my old friends (best friend from grade school and high school) that moved to CA years ago has been trying to get a hold of me for years. She lived at my house when we were in High School and I lost contact with her and we are now sending each other emails. This have all happened within a day or two and she sent me a Birthday Card and I didn't tell her when my Birthday as she already knew it. I know her birthday it's Jan 1st.
OMG The good memories and laughs have some flooding back and she has brought my spirits up 100%.

Please guys if you haven't logged on to the website please do. For us single people it means the difference of being lonely during the holidays or not. She was contemplating suicide because her boyfriend of 20 years picked up a 19 year old girlfriend and left. When she got my email she said that It stopped her in her tracks. She is going to get help and we both miss each other so bad and we both felt like sisters because she lived with my family.

God I might have been in her shoes If I didn't get in touch with her.

I have been bugging the hell out of another DU'er that has felt sorry for my sorry ass and now he can feel relief.

Log on the Classmates people your old friends are on there.

1. You don't get shit on Classmates unless you pay ...
....and if you're a savvy enough web-surfer, you can find what you're looking for, for free.

Waste of money, IMO.

3. I got a 30 day trial membership
I will cancel it immediately if it means I am going to get spam emails and pop up ads.

5. I agree
You don't get squat for free. I signed up when it forst started and you used to get all kinds of stuff for free. that's all changed. I see no reason to spend $50 a year to hook up with people I hated in high school.

7. I didn't see anything regarding $50.00 bucks
I have a little bit of cash in paypal from mystery shopping and $50.00 bucks would clean me out.

Shit, I am going to cancel it before my 30 days are up.

2. One word of caution........
Classmates.com might be alright for some folks but take this into consideration........ Not long after I registered there I started getting deluged with Spam non-stop. After I quit it ceased dramatically. Draw your own conclusions......... And one other piece of advice..... just before I quit, I changed my E-Mail address in my classmates.com profile to a bogus non-existent address. Now I don't receive nearly as much Spam as I used to get.

I have no desire to see any of those jerks from my high school. Before our 5th year Reunion a few people insisted that since I was a class officer I had to help organize the reunion - I just laughed my ass off at the 2 people telling me that (They ran into me at a carnival).

I had a wonderful time during my high school years - but not with the people from my high school. They were a bunch of assinine racist hicks and we could have reunions at the local penetentary.

6. I went to School in Chicago
They started busing kids in from the South Side of Chicago when I was in my Freshman year and I am so glad that they did that because it offered all of us the ability to meet people from all ethnic backgrounds.

I also was very close to about 8 people from Grade School & High School and we kept in touch until I moved to England and I lost contact with them.

I also made all of the Puzzles for our High School and my classmates loved them.

9. I dig that....
I can never figure out why so many people think high school was any different than any other part of their lives. It was 3-4 friggin years of bullshit. The good times continued long after, and anyone who I was friends with then I talk with now. Anyone else who doesnt attempt to call, or contact me was just some other kids who I knew when I went to school.

10. I am not talking about the whole School
Hell no!

I agree with you anyone who doesn't call you isn't a friend.

My English Teacher went to prison from picking up little girls in High School. God the memories of him going to concert with us kids is kinda odd now come to think about it.

I had that few group of friends that stayed friends after School but we lost contact and it's like we picked back up where we left off.

11. I agree with corarose...
... Just about 2 years ago my old HS won the Illinois state championship in football. I went to their website and to their alumni section which I had looked in before. They had switched it to classmates so I checked it out and lo and behold saw the one and only name I was really looking for. (I already keep in touch with the old friends I want to keep.)

She was my first steady, my first love. We dated off and on for 8 years and she's the one whose memories had haunted me for 22 years since we lost touch. I wrote her, she wrote back immediately. We emailed for a few months and then discovered how to use IM. She lives about 100 miles away but still comes up to visit her mom, we have met maybe a dozen times (no hanky panky.)

We are both stuck in terrible marriages for the sake of our kids. We are now best friends and both consider ourselves damn lucky and rare to have found each other. I am convinced she is my soulmate. I was at wits end before I found her again, not really giving a shit about my health or anything else, my future was f**ked. That is no longer the case, the kids are getting older and will soon be out of the house, when that happens all bets are off. i DO have a future to look forward to.

I paid for a year at classmates, and yes, I got spam, but what I got in return is priceless!! I no longer belong, no more need, I found what I was looking for.

12. Did they give you the 30 day trial?
Do you think that you two will ever be able to be together after your kids are grown?

I hope for your sake that they two of you can become more then friends later on.

13. My "lost" classmates are lost for a reason.
There are only a few that care to talk to, and I'm still in touch with them. The rest of those jerkwads can kiss my ass.
