Why Isn't Whole Wheat Bread Whole Grain? |

If whole wheat bread is no healthier than plain old white bread, and whole GRAIN is supposed to be the real deal: What's the difference between whole WHEAT and whole GRAIN?

Just a guess, but I think most so-called "whole wheat" breads use practically the same flour. Except the white flour is bleached somehow.

got ground up into the flour. Whole grain means it didn't get ground at all or is very, very coarsely ground, so that you can see the grains.
Check out some Dutch Roggebrood or its German equivalent some time.
