Going to mexico for wedding...travel questions...
Hey all,

We are going to Playa Del Carmen in April for a friend's wedding at an all-inclusive resort. The wedding planner is quoting us $3g for airfare and hotel for my DH and I. I know we can go cheaper.

Anyone ever traveled to Mexico? Did you do an all-inclusive? Did you go through a vacation agency? Funjet? Apple? Did you book airfare and hotel separately?

Any tips would be much appreciated. THX!

2. Actually, I just got back from my own wedding in Mexico.
It was just south of Playa in Puerto Aventura. Go for the all-inclusive package (it'll save you tons if you like to eat & drink), and try to book the flights separately. I'm not sure where you'd be flying from, but we had great luck with ATA flying out of Midway (Chicago). It was a nonstop, and the prices were pretty good.

You didn't mention how long you'd be staying, but $3K doesn't sound too bad for about a week at an all-inclusive + airfare. You could probably do better, however.

4. this agency has very good deals on Mexico usually....
they were much cheaper fares than i could get anywhare else, but i dealt with the hotels myself because i was going to a place w/ lots of little places to stay and i was flexible. at anyrate, they really did their homewok and came up with a very cheap fare for me to the Cancun airport.

5. three grand??? I haven't paid that much altogether for the past 3 years
vacation's I've spent in Playa del Carmen -- and I spend MONEY when I travel.

Terrible price, you're getting ripped off. Might wanna check what else your wedding planner is ripping you off for, no offense.

Book your airfare with yahoo or something, even peak season, 600 rt per is the most you should pay, and far less from the east coast.

Hotels won't be more than 125 per night... I suggest Hotel Quinto Sol, where I've stayed often, I recommend a room upstairs.
