I love both Buff and Angel for different reasons. And they explore the subject from slightly different perspectives.
Firefly I never saw so I can't say.

3. Firefly was a great show |
|
Very creative, with a cool spaceship and an attractive cast of real human beings who do the kinds of things that real human beings would do.
It's a crying shame it was ripped off the air so unceremoniously, and never even given the play it deserved.
The Star Trek franchise people could have learned a lot from that show.

Sorry for the multiple posts.
My feed got hung up there for a while. It also said the DU board was too busy. When I tried to delete my extra posts, it said the editable time had expired.

That's like trying to decide between Hamlet, Macbeth, and King Lear as Shakespeare's finest work.

12. It's hard to choose... |

The only one still running is Angel, but it was a Buffy spin-off. Buffy got weird near the end and Angel is picking back up after a lukewarm season. Firefly really wasn't on long enough to compare. The episodes Joss did get to make were brilliant. I'm gonna pick up the Firefly DVD when it comes out. I also heard they were talking about a Firefly mini-series or movie.
If I had to choose one: Firefly. Cowboys in space, gotta love it.

is by far the best
the characters are far superior to those on Angel--how many other shows can have a high school swim team look like creatures from the Black Lagoon?

But Angel is really good now too.
Spike rocking out to the Dead Kennedys was cool this week.

18. I'm sorry... but Angel is such a wuss... |

For years all he did was wander around whining and crying that he wasn't worthy of Buffy... gag...

19. If there were three Buffys... |
|
The order would be 1) Buffy, 2) Buffy, 3) Buffy, 4) Angel, 5) Firefly.
I loved Firefly, but it only lasted what, six episodes? It didn't have time to hit its stride to the point where it could compete with Angel. Angel is in that rarified air with those shows in contention for second best TV show ever (Family Guy, The Adventures of Pete and Pete, All in the Family -- six or seven years ago, I would have said the Simpsons belonged here, but the brilliance of seasons 3-6 can no longer make up for the UNMITIGATED CRAP that has come from Gracie Films since then).
Buffy is so far and away the best art ever to grace the small screen that it's not even worth discussing. It's so damn good that it even made Emma Caulfied seem likable, and that's a hell of a feat.
