What unusual job or business have you had? |
|
There was a few years when I took tests for people (SATs, GREs) and got paid pretty damn well for it (of course, this was a long time ago, before photo driver's licenses).
There was one other I don't talk about, but the one above seems fairly unusual.
You?

I worked very briefly for a doctor who was doing GI research on VA patients.....
VERY briefly! The job was NOT appropriate for me, and after a month, we both decided that I should go......

4. I worked in a Funeral Home |
|
did all the practical study (embamling etc, under the guidance of a licensed practitioner) Never did go to school though, not enough openings and my name was never pulled from the 'hat'.
I also hauled liquid manure by truck as my first trucking job.
I have taught truck driving (CDL AZ ) I worked with patients (survivors) released (kicked out because of government cutbacks grr) from psychiatric facilities, helping them to find work in the community I've not had a boring life :)

5. I babysat for strippers |

My Dad's taxi service has accounts with several of the clubs in the area, so if the ladies mentioned having kids he'd offer my services. It worked out nicely since he could drop me off when picking them up to run them to work and since they generally make good money I was well compensated.

6. Did maintenance on ATM machines. |
|
And occasionally had to get into the cash drawer to flip the money front to back if it stuck together. I hated doing that, because several of the branches on my route had been robbed. Fortunately, that never happened while I was in one of the branches.

8. I worked for a guy who supplied commercial airplane sets for movies |
|
and television shows. This guy made so much freakin' money it wasn't even funny. I was kind of like a production coordinator. I was the contact with the productions, set up transportation, wrote up the contracts, and was usually present while shooting in case anything went wrong.
I see his sets all the time in shows and commercials. We worked on "Seinfeld", "Friends", "Melrose Place", "Dave's World", "Caroline in the City", "Rosanne", "Party of Five" to name a few. We also worked on "Jerry Maguire", "Home for the Holidays", "The Spanish Prisoner", "Turbulence", "Courage Under Fire", "Escape to LA","Fight Club". It was a fun job, but the owner was a prick.
