My kids got the dvd of the grinch for Christmas last year (I would have told the gift giver not to if I had known it was coming) and they are too afraid to watch it. If they have to develop them, why can't they make them fun and whimsical like they were originally intended instead of making them freaky? I loved Seuss books as a kid - my kids will read the books, but I will avoid the movies - there is no way they can't disappoint true Seuss fans.

an animated Seuss movie in the mid-ninties based loosly on "Oh, the places you'll go" with Tri-Star and Seuss' widow. We were staying faithful to the spirit of Seuss ala Chuck Jones "Grinch", but needless to say, it didn't "go" anywhere in the end. I suspect that Columbia/ Tri-star still owns those rights :-(.
