I need an alien name from original Star Trek
Can anyone help me? It's for something I'm writing.

Kirk and crew, along with a Klingon crew (when Klingons looked human) are trapped on board the ship and fighting.

Everytime one of them is killed, they come back to life to fight again. The alien feeds off the hate and anger generated in the fighting. This fighting-death-revival-fighting will go on forever.

The alien appears as a ball of energy moving near the ceiling.

When they figure out what is happening, the Klingon says 'only a fool fights in a burning house' and they call a truce to solve the alien problem.

I can see the whole thing in my mind...but I can't remember what they called that alien who feeds on the energy.

Can anyone 'name that alien?'

2. "Day of the Dove"
The alien was unnamed.

It's a great episode though... doubly remarkable is that it's a season 3 episode! :D

who inhabits Bones' nurse. I forget her name too.

It's one of my favorite episodes.

And the alien feeds off everyone's anger and anxiety. They finally figure out that the way to get rid of it is to laugh at it and get along.

6. Starship Exeter by any chance?
All I remember is Kirk saying "Go ahead, in the heart, in the head, I won't stay dead!"

I remember that it wasn't named other than as an alien that feeds off anger! (Sounds like Howard Dean haha!)

Are you by any chance working on the Starship Exeter project? I know some of those folks!

16. produced fan fiction
I saw it on local cable a few weeks ago.

Ugh.

Costumes looked all right, music was taken directly from TOS.

Sets almost looked like the 1960s TOS sets, they were quite good.

Acting was lame and the plot cheezy, even TOS didn't feel as gaudy.

In other words, it's damn good for being fan fiction. Definitely worth looking at, if you can sit through it. It is fascinating, that's for sure...

Yeah, I'm from the twin cities and one of my friends may be acting in an upcoming episode (he's a Scot from Glasgow... Go Celtic!)

But I have to agree with your assessment! VERY good fan fiction, cool costumes, makeup and props/sets, but baaaad acting! Haha! I still loved it though 'cause I'm a Trekker from waaay back! There is good news though, the behind the scenes word is that Gene Roddenbury Jr. has signed on the project and they are shopping a new pilot!

Beta XII-A entity; (above) Alien life-form of unknown origin, composed of pure
energy, that thrived on the energy of negative emotions. The entity, first encountered at
planet Beta XII-A, was capable of manipulating matter and the minds of its victims. It
created a confrontation between crew members of a Klingon ship and the Starship
Enterprise in 2268. Pitting these longtime enemies against each other, the entity fed on
their anger, growing stronger as their hatred increased. The entity was defeated by a
peaceful collaboration between the Klingons and the Enterprise crew. Star Trek. "Day of
the Dove"

Thanks for that, SOTeric.

I looked for it on the star trek site, but it's not on their list of favorite classic episodes. Shame, really.
