How a true politician should speak.

The following is a real quote, I'm not gonna say who said ot right off the bat, I want to give you the quote and let it sink in.

"I wouldn’t ever serve in any position that requires that I refrain from telling the truth as I see it and from acting vigorously to bring about what I see as constructive change."

Tell me America would NOT be a better country today if every politician spoke like that?

The quote above was made by Salt Lake City's left-wing mayor, Rocky Anderson on the conservative hate spewed to him by the Utah GOP.

Anderson has been a vocal critic to urban sprawl and the quote I posted was published in a High Country News article back in 2001. Rocky Anderson has been pegged the most liberal mayor of any major US city - he's a self definded socialist.

Sadly, it seems Rocky's voice is the ever growing minority. I feel Howard Dean is right when he says politicians promise the world. It's time we start electing Democrats that stand by their beliefs, rather than change with the polls.
