Could someone who speaks French comfortably PM me? |
|
I have some documents and a letter from my friend in Belgium, notes about something he is angry about, and a letter from the Dept of Defense in France, I think, after WWI.
I can not get a handle on it, and he really wants me to understand. There are military records in French as well. He speaks some English, and it is something about murder or killing. I get so frustrated, as I really want to understand. This is too long and involved, and the language barrier is affecting it.
I would remove identifying data and PM you with it if you could translate.
Thanks.

1. You could just translate it via babelfish |
|
http://babel.altavista.com/of course you'll have to type it in. And it doesn't translate perfectly. But good enought to get the gist.

2. There are documents and text mixed. |
|
I just figured someone who did speak fluently would not mind. It seems to be a topic that goes back many years.
I was surprised to hear from him. He quit writing for a while because he hates our country so. He is trying to separate that hatred from the fact that he knows I am not to blame. It is hard for him since the US threatened to move NATO if they did change the war crimes system.
Since our papers have not covered it, we don't understand things like that. We have done that all over the world in various ways.
We here might be aware, but not the public.

It's not worth the time for official documents.
I know b/c I used to work at a Fortune 50 Company. The person claiming to do the multilingual translations of our software CDs was using Babelfish.com!!!!! True story. The fact is we got calls from all over the world claiming how rotten our "translations" were. Didn't take long to find out where they were coming from.
Bottome line: Babelfish.com is not reliable.

6. I am trying the text part there. Good site. |
|
Babelfish is not good. This one captures an essence so I can see he is requesting information for a relative or someone WWI.
I will try it again tomorrow. I will send it to him. Thanks.
