1. It gives us an opportunity to change it?

That's what keeps me going; the vain arrogant hope that I'll be able to change the world for the better. Our society is slowly yet utterly self-destructive, it's amazing anybody can feel happy at all the moment they think things through.

The question is how to do it.

On edit, saw the pic. While the US is destroying itself, its 'leader' has been taking pleasure in destroying others' far more rapidly. Why does the vermin* still have a 50* approval rating?!

3. this morning..................
is not a good time to ask that question of me. After what the Resluglicans pulled this morning I can think of little that makes me want to go on, to continue this meaningless charade. What's the use? Why try? The opposition will bend every rule in the book, steal, rob, coerce, threaten, extort......anything to get their way. At some point one must stop trying and beating their head against the wall. I'm too old and tired to keep fighting these bastards, I give up. They win. I'm leaving the country.

4. Because other people should not die in vain.
You have to *make* your own reasons.
You've got one shot at it and you don't know when it will end.

Why waste it?
