:hide:

I know this will be a touchy issue, so I'll be respectful.

That June Allyson, Gosh, could anything ever make her unhappy, or less chipper, even for a moment? ;)

Sorry, just my Turner Classic Movies rant. :D

1. I bet she tried, though.
I'd imagine that back then actors had it even tougher if they tried to break out of their 'character'.

I bet in at least one picture, while shooting, the director said "Cut! Okay June, could you try more chippy?"

3. She cried in just about every film she did
Because she was a really great cryer.

Or maybe there was just something about Jimmy Stewart that made her sad.

She also had the best "quizzical" look in film history.

4. Aw, I like June Allyson.
Loved her in The Glenn Miller story.

Wasn't she unhappy in Little Women?

7. I'm sure she was.
You'd be inhuman not to cry at least once in Little Woman. I know I cried every time I read or watched it.

8. She has played villains
She was in a movie called "The Shrike" where she played a wife who drove her husband into a mental institution.

But yeah, for the most part she did play the perfect wife and mother.
