2. Mr. Edwards! ..............(Ole dan tucker.......!)
Chorus
So get out the way for Old Dan Tucker
Get out the way for Old Dan Tucker
Get out the way for Old Dan Tucker
He's too late to come for supper

Old Dan. he went down to the mill
To get some meal to put in the swill
The miller swore by the point of his knife
He never seen such a man in his life

Repeat Chorus

Old Dar Tucker was a fine old man
Washed his face in a frying pan
Combed his hair with a wagon wheel
Died wit? a toothache in his heel

Repeat Chorus

9. composed by...
...Daniel Decatur Emmett in 1843. It really was a minstrel song, sterotypical of the African experience in America. "Ole Dan" was a black man. Here's one of the original covers of the sheet music:

3. I'm assuming you referring to the excellent series of children's books
Rather than the POS tv show with a cutesy Michael Landon.

I loved Mary because she was so dependable. She was her mother's rock, yet got less recognition than the other children. I remember, as a child, crying when I read about her illness, and having to cut her beautiful hair, and then her blindness. At 11, I was in love with Mary Ingalls.

Hated the television show.

My best friend's four year old called it "Little Prairie on the Big House!" It was her favorite.

4. ahh, sure the show was pablum....
but I LIKE pablum!

Actually, I thought Mary received that same treatment on the show. And the actress who played her, apparently felt so too. Beautiful young actress with incredible blue eyes, btw...

5. I voted for Pa. Those books will forever have a place in my heart.
My father used to read them to my sister and I at bedtime when we were just wee lasses. Pa in the books reminds me so much of my father-good-natured and loving with a sense of humor. I must have read "Little House In the Big Woods" over and over as a kid. Warm fuzzy memory.

6. I love the fact that Mr. Edwards is winning.
He was a progressive, if ever there was one.

7. The books are so wonderful
and the series is so awful. I wish someone would make a series of movies from the books. So people could see what pioneer life really was like for those people rather than the fake version that was on TV.

8. None
I couldn't stand the libertarian crap that was all through the books, and Michael Landon was always such a phony!
