I have an old Betamax in my storage space. I'll be giving up the space soon. Wondering what to do with the VCR. It needs repair. I seem to recall that there were some who were collecting these things some years ago. Last time I checked ebay, even working units were going pretty cheap. Should I just pitch it. I hate to throw stuff away. Especially since these things are generally better than VHS. But then VCRs are going the way of the buffalo.
...But the buffalo is making a comeback.

1. Pick your thrift store charity, and donate it. |

You'd be amazed the joy someone who would never buy such a thing could have if it's dirt cheap. A line cook I worked with got this big clunky video camera for about ten dollars, the list of things wrong with it was a mile long -- but it entertained him for weeks.

3. I couldn't get salvation army to take electronics... even those that work. |

I had two scanner/printers (a year old- both functional) and a five disk dvd changer/player. They wouldn't take them!

4. What's the model? Some of them are quite valuable. |
|
By "quite" I mean hundreds of dollars to Betaphiles...
