Why does Windows Update insist on telling me I need to restart... |
|
Edited on Tue Dec-13-05 03:45 PM by primate1
When I keep telling it I'll restart later. If I wanted to restart I would do it. I don't need a fucking reminder.

Microsoft try to make idiot-proof software. I'm a computer programmer, I know something about this. You shouldn't try to make idiot-proof software; it's like an arms race between you and nature. And you can't win: nature will always make a bigger idiot.

30. Talk about power users here ... |

The first one I had Windows installed was a 386/16. 1 MB RAM, 1 MB harddisk.
And this was after 10 years without having/needing a computer. My first one was a Toshiba laptop and a IBM AT. 256 Kb RAM, no harddisk (couldn't afford one), and DBaseII. That was fun!

What also was funny that I was running from every computer store to the other because I needed DOS on a 3.5 inch disk (for the Toshiba laptop). None of the stores had seen it before and thought 5.25 inch disks were the ultimate. This was around 1984 as I recall.
