1. I loved "Hudsucker Proxy" |
|
Tim Robbins...one of my favorite actors. A nice story...sort of Capraesque. And, in the start, the inimiable Paul Newman. What's not to love! :-)

2. Was Holly Hunter's bad acting in Raising Arizona intentional? |
|
This is a tough poll. Gotta got with Fargo, ya' know.

Were you one of the sirens or the Wizard-of-Ozzish Klansman? I chose that movie even though I wasn't in it cuz it's a damn good movie.

5. Intolerable Cruelty lived up to its name... |
|
it would have been disappointing directed by ANYONE, let alone the Coen Brothers. There has to be something more to the story... absolutely dreadful waste of time, money, and effort.
Remaking "Raising Arizona" in a wealthy Bev. Hills setting would have been a better use of the resources.

It's not my favorite genre, but the Coen's touch made it a blast to watch a type of movie I normally avoid. It's another classic. They've gone in a direction no one expected them to even try, and they succeeded beyond anyone's expectations.

14. I Thought it Was Mostly Great |
|
The ending was weak as all get out, but everything that led up to it was grand, especially the wedding to Billy Bob.

but Oh Brother has so many great lines
Junior: "We can get a midget, only smaller!"
Pappy O'Daniel: "You slack shouldered sack of shit, we'll be called johnny-come-latelys," no matter how stumpy."
OMFG I start laughing when I think of that scene.

Hands down!
Actually, it's hard to pick one. Outside of The Hudsucker Proxy, they're all gems in their own right.
