So what are you listening to today?
Time for a new thread. I listened to:

Fleetwood Mac - Greatest Hits

Bo Bice - The Real Thing (I loved Bo on AI. Clearly more than Carrie. But it turns out that I like Carrie's CD more. Carrie's CD is a good mix of country and pop, and she shows an interpretive skill that I didn't think she had. She still has room for improvement: "Lessons Learned" does not sound very lived in. Bo's album, on the other hand, sounds tailored for modern rock radio. Gone is the 70s sound and the energy he showed. Only the first and last songs are good. Bo's album: C, Carrie's: B)

BTW, listened to the Lindsay Lohan again, and my grade stands at C+. A small step backwards for her, as I gave Speak a B-.

Also listened to B101 for Christmas music. I like hearing it early (even before Thanksgiving, as I consider the middle of Nov. the start of the holiday season. There's an audience for it - they wouldn't be playing it otherwise. But I can see how it might annoy others.)

So what have you listened to?

3. Ok, I'll admit it. This time of year I listen to Handel's Messiah.
And I sing along. I sing all the arias and the soprano parts of the choruses. Now you know my shameful secret.

21. Ooooh! me too!
Except I'm torn- I've sung both the soprano and alto parts in the choruses...I never know which is going to come out of my mouth as I'm singing along with the recording!

26. I'm way too high pitched to have done alto.
I was always assigned the descant parts when I sang in the church choir.

23. Love 'em both!
Have you heard of "Zanna, Don't?"

Wonderfully fun musical- kinda deep if you go beyond the surface of the "pop-kitchy factor!"

5. I drove several hours to pick up my daughter
on the solo leg of the trip, it was John Denver, Kathy Mattea, Sara Evans and Curtis Stigers. On the trip back, it was anything Christmas playing through her laptop. Bing and Frank topped the list.

7. System of a Down - Mesmerize
I'm still trying to put a letter grade to it. SOAD's albums are always hard for me to rate, because they seem to organize their albums around an idea or a theme, rather than around tracks. They build up to and away from a few key tracks. It seems like a B or a B+ to me at the moment.
