...while driving back from Naples. 88.5 WMNF doesn't make it all the way down to Naples dammit! So I turned on the only non-Clear Channel station I know about...

Boston: More Than a Feeling lyrics

I looked out this morning and the sun was gone
Turned on some music to start my day
I lost myself in a familiar song
I closed my eyes and I slipped away

It's more than a feeling, when I hear that old song they used to play (more than a feeling)
I begin dreaming (more than a feeling)
'till I see Marianne walk away
I see my Marianne walkin' away

So many people have come and gone
Their faces fade as the years go by
Yet I still recall as I wander on
as clear as the sun in the summer sky

It's more than a feeling, when I hear that old song they used to play (more than a feeling)
I begin dreaming (more than a feeling)
'till I see Marianne walk away
I see my Marianne walkin' away

When I'm tired and thinking cold
I hide in my music, forget the day
and dream of a girl I used to know
I closed my eyes and she slipped away
She slipped awa y. She slipped away.

It's more than a feeling, when I hear that old song they used to play (more than a feeling)
I begin dreaming (more than a feeling)
'till I see Marianne walk away
I see my Marianne walkin' away

6. That explains it! Boston was HUGE in the mid-80's.
When I was in HS.

IIRC their 1st release was the fastest selling album (I know...CD...MP3) at that time.

5. That feller from Boston had an incredible voice
Yeah, every time I hear that song I try to sing along. I never can hit those high notes, though. It'll give you a sore throat trying.

9. I used to be able to sing soprano and can't hit the notes he does.
I've always liked Boston. :)

10. Yeah, or at least used to be able to.
But I'm a chick. I'm a chick who sings tenor, so I can hit both the low and high notes. Neener neener.

Now, Chris Cornell gives me a pain between my eyes, because he can sing lower than I can -- so, y'know, it's all relative.

12. To sing this song you need the proper technique.

Reach down and squeeze your (ummm well you know) really really hard. You'll hit the high notes in no time at all.
