1. If the state is shaped like a letter 'V'
then it's Vermont. That's how I learned! Thanks for posting this, I had been looking for it!

2. I don't know why, but I've always confused Wisconsin and Minnesota.
I'm a college professor, and yet ever since I was a kid I've gotten the two mixed up. Ever single other state I can put in place correctly, but those two always make me scratch my head. I did the same thing with Iowa and Ohio until I was in HS, but that one finally self-corrected.

5. Wisconsin has the Green BAY Packers
Closer to the great lakes - that's how I remember it.

3. Vermont is the one that borders on NY
there wasn't even supposed to be a Vermont, except the governor of NH sold alot of land to people from Connecticut, except it was land in NY which the NH governor had no right to sell. This was before the Revolution. After the Revolution, one of the early Congresses passed a law abolishing the state of Vermont, but General Washington refused to enforce it. Vermont's Green Mountain Boys were experienced fighters, and would be especially formidable in their own woods.

11. Well, I got 'em all right, but
the first time I didn't know it was timed and didn't pass. I knew the, except the Illinois/Indiana/Ohio areas and the Colorado/Utah/Wyoming area. I got them right after thinking for a second or two.
