Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times journalist and author Chris Hedges. Hedges, a former war correspondent, speaks about the perils of war and its toll on humanity. Hedges spent 15 years covering war, including El Salvador, the West Bank and Gaza Strip, Iraq, and Kosovo, among others.

His experiences led him to write War Is A Force That Gives Us Meaning. In the talk, Hedges addresses humanity's "love affair" with war. He draws from Homer and Shakespeare, Erich Maria Remarque and Michael Herr. Hedges cautions that even for the winners, war unleashes a litany of unforeseen consequences...

A must read book,it made me further understand the realities of war and the jingoistic hysteria that covers a nation.
